Tomo Kumahira is Co-Founder and CEO of WaterOne.AI, water intelligence firm focused on water security and adaptation. Recognized by Imagine H2O and StartX, WaterOne offers an AI-enabled water intelligence platform for farmers in water-stressed areas, water managers, institutional investors, and water solution providers. The company spun out of Stanford’s Doerr School of Sustainability after being supported by TomKat Innovation Grant, building on his team’s publication of the world’s first solution map for water-agriculture adaptation. Previously, he was Acting CFO at Komaza, Africa’s largest sustainable forestry startup, where he raised 50M dollars in climate finance for afforestation with 30,000 farmers and designed the world’s first securitization model for smallholder forestry. He started his career as a private equity investor at Mitsubishi Corporation. An Acumen Fellow and Robert Bosch Foundation Fellow, Tomo has advised the UN FAO. He holds a BA from Brown University and MS-MBA from Stanford as Knight-Hennessy Scholar.
