Tao Sun is currently a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, working with Prof. Ram Rajagopal, and a Stanford Impact Labs Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University. He received his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University in 2025, and his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research interests include climate change, power systems, and human adaptation, using interdisciplinary approaches spanning artificial intelligence, engineering, and social sciences. He has published in journals including Nature Energy, IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid / Automatic Control, Energy, and Scientific Data, among others. His work has been covered by The Washington Post, Forbes, ABC News, NPR, and DW Germany. He is a recipient of several best paper awards at conferences including the IEEE PES General Meeting.
