Ana Paula Pessoa

Ana Paula is one of the Founders of Instituto Kunumi (kunuminst.org), a research collective dedicated to advancing artificial intelligence, responsible AI development, and AI governance. The institute promotes interdisciplinary collaboration bringing together technology, ethics, and public policy, and has established more than 25 research labs in major universities in Brazil and abroad.

Ana Paula is a global independent board director and investor with more than 30 years of leadership experience across listed and privately held companies in artificial intelligence, financial services, energy, media, infrastructure, sanitation, and healthtech.
Earlier in her career, she served as Chief Financial Officer of the Rio 2016 Olympic & Paralympic Games, overseeing finance, legal, compliance, HR, and dissolution. She was also CFO and Director of New Business at Infoglobo / Globo Organizations, leading financial strategy and operational transformation across media businesses.

She holds an MA in Development Economics and a BA in Economics and International Relations, with honors, from Stanford University. Ana Paula is a frequent speaker on AI governance, digital transformation, cybersecurity, ESG, and diversity in corporate leadership, and has been recognized by Women Corporate Directors (WCD) Global and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for her contributions to board leadership.
