Stanford Tagging of Pelagic Predators

The Stanford Block Lab has pioneered the electronic tagging of pelagic predators for over three decades to reveal migration pathways and ecological hotspots across the global ocean. Integrating long-term studies of bluefin tuna and white sharks with advances in tagging, genetic sampling, and imaging, the lab uncovers how top predators function, adapt, and connect ocean ecosystems.
